A Premier League club could benefit from a Barcelona star being ‘forced’ to leave the club in January despite him wanting to stay at the La Liga outfit.
Hansi Flick, 59, could be without a highly rated player for the remainder of the 2024/25 season after Barcelona saw their appeal for the “precautionary registration of Dani Olmo for the rest of the season rejected”, according to BBC Sport.
The report claims that La Liga welcomed a court’s decision to reject the club’s appeal on Friday.

Olmo, 26, joined Barca from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig for a reported €60m (£51m) in August this year after the attacking midfielder shone during Spain’s Euro 2024 triumph at the tournament in Germany.
However, his transfer has been complex. He was eventually registered for the first half of the season after the Catalans could not meet La Liga’s wage cap restrictions.
But the club registered the midfielder to their squad after they saw several players sustain long-term injuries, which allowed Barca to allocate a portion of their wages to register him.

But Olmo’s registration was temporary and will expire at the end of December, meaning he will not be able to play during the second half of the season.
TBR reports that the club have lodged an appeal, which is due to be heard on Monday.
It is thought that Olmo would prefer to stay and play for Barca, if this is not a viable option, he could 'open' to move to a Premier League club.

The outlet explained that “agents are keeping clubs informed”, which includes Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United.
It is claimed that Olmo is not eager to activate a release clause in his contract, but a loan move may be considered.
TBR suggests that Arsenal and Man City have “already confirmed” that they would be willing to recruit the Spain midfielder.
While Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and Juventus are also said to be interested in bringing the player on board.

A move to City would arguably make the most sense, given the fact, their attacking midfielders, Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden, have underperformed so far this season.
His impressive technical ability, combined with his knack for scoring goals from midfield, could allow him to thrive in Pep Guardiola’s side.
Sport also reports that PSG have entered the race to bring Olmo to the club.
