Liverpool have received a major boost in any attempts to sign Kylian Mbappe, due to one top European club pulling out of the race, according to reports.
Spanish outlet MARCA claimed on Tuesday that the Frenchman had told PSG that he wanted to leave the club back in July. They also report that PSG agreed to 'collaborate' over his exit - as long as certain conditions were met.
Since then, Mbappe has been hotly linked with some of the world's biggest clubs. They include Premier League trio Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City, as well as Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Links to Chelsea have since intensified, with renowned journalist Julien Laurens reporting that the Blues are a "serious contender" to sign the 23-year-old.

But Liverpool would also be a suitable destination, providing they have the funds to complete a deal. If they do, the Reds appear to have been handed a huge boost.
Major European club drop out of Mbappe race
MARCA now report that Real Madrid have 'no desire to participate in the whole drama' and are a spectator. The same outlet claimed in their original report that PSG agreed to negotiate Mbappe's departure, as long as a move to Real was taken off the table.
Given their well-publicised pursuit of the Frenchman over recent years, this will come as a major boost for Premier League clubs as they race to secure Mbappe's signature.

But PSG themselves (as per Sky Sports) have refuted any rumours that one of their key players will be leaving the club in the near future.
They say that there is "zero chance" of Mbappe leaving the club in January, and also denied reports from French outlet Mediapart that they had used a communications agency to create fake social media accounts to attack high-profile footballing names.
The 23-year-old played in PSG's 1-1 draw against Benfica at Parc des Princes on Tuesday. He opened the scoring as Christophe Galtier's side retained top spot in their Champions League group.
