Kylian Mbappe is set to earn a mind-blowing salary if he joins Real Madrid at the end of the season.
Paris Saint-Germain forward Mbappe is out of contract in the summer and has been able to speak to foreign clubs from January 1.
According to German publication BILD, Mbappe has now agreed to join Madrid on a free transfer at the end of the campaign.
He is set to be offered a deal worth an incredible €50m (£41.5m) per year before tax, making him the highest-paid footballer in the world based on salary alone.
Mbappe’s contract would see him paid around €137,000 (£114,100) each day, or to break it down even further, around €1.58 (£1.32) every single second.
Madrid are set to finally land the France international after failing to sign him last year.
Madrid made a number of bids for Mbappe in the summer and were willing to pay up to €200m (£166.5m) for the forward.
But they walked away from negotiations after Paris Saint-Germain failed to respond to their final bid.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez later complained about PSG’s refusal to sell.
“The state-owned clubs don’t sell their players. It’s a madness,” he said.
“Now we offer €200m for a single player and they don't sell him. When players finish their contract it's better.”
Meanwhile, PSG sporting director Leonardo accused his counterparts at Real Madrid of “illegal” behaviour and attempting to contact Mbappe without their permission.
“For the last two years, Real Madrid have been behaving like this, it is not correct, illegal even because they contacted the player. It is unacceptable for us, because it is not correct,” he said.
“It is proof of the strategy: an offer comes one year before the end of his contract and seven days before the end of the window.
“They want us to reject, to show to Kylian that they tried everything and to start negotiating for next year.”
Mbappe has previously said he had hoped PSG would agree to sell him so they could receive a transfer fee, rather than having him leave for free at the end of the season.
He told RMC Sport last year: "I asked to leave, because from the moment where I did not want to extend, I wanted for the club to receive a transfer fee so that they could bring in a quality replacement.
“This club has given me a lot, I have always been happy [during] the four years I have had here, and I still am.
"I said it early enough so that the club could react.
"I wanted everyone to come out of this stronger, that we leave hand in hand, to make a good deal and I respected that.
"I said, ‘If you don’t want me to go I will stay’.”
Mbappe is set to come up against Madrid when they take on PSG in the last 16 of the Champions League next month.
The French club travel to the Bernabeu on February 15 before the reverse fixture at the Parc des Princes on March 9.
