Manchester United will struggle to afford Kylian Mbappe after blowing their transfer budget in the summer, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.
The Mirror reported earlier this month that United could turn to Mbappe as a Cristiano Ronaldo replacement.
This came after Ronaldo's explosive interview with Piers Morgan where he slated the club's facilities and claimed manager Erik ten Hag has no respect for him.

United have been short on attacking options this season and have relied on 18-year-old Alejandro Garnacho to bail them out at times.
Garnacho scored the winning goal against both Real Sociedad and Fulham before the World Cup break.
"United overspent their budget"
United's interest in Mbappe would require a deal around £150million according to the Daily Star.

That sum is considered out of United's budget and Sky Sports' transfer guru Dharmesh Sheth has revealed the information he has on the transfer.
“All the information I’m getting when we talk about Mbappe and Manchester United is that United actually did overspend their budget in the summer," he told GiveMeSport.
“Quite how much money they’ll have for any player, let alone the outlay it would require for Kylian Mbappe, is questionable.”
United spent over £200million in the summer window on the likes of Antony, Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez and Tyrell Malacia.

All of whom you could argue have been worth their price tag in the early stages of the season.
Martinez and Casemiro have become fan favourites and Antony has scored important goals, meanwhile Malacia has provided competition for the left-back starting spot which has forced Luke Shaw into performing well.
