Kylian Mbappe fanboys over Lionel Messi before Ligue 1 trophy lift

Kylian Mbappe might be one of the biggest names in world football, but that didn't stop him from fanboying over Lionel Messi in the tunnel.

Kylian Mbappe is one of the most recognised names in world football, but that doesn't mean that he can't appreciate one of the greatest players of this generation.

PSG lifted the Ligue 1 trophy on Saturday following an underwhelming 3-2 home loss to Clermont Foot, finishing just one point ahead of RC Lens in the table.

Les Parisiens actually had the title wrapped up last week, after they drew 1-1 away to Strasbourg, but the game on Saturday was pencilled in to be the trophy lift, as the final home game of the season.

Prior to PSG's trophy lift, Kylian Mbappe spoke to a PSG TV camera while Lionel Messi was just across from him, and he started to fanboy a little bit over his Argentinian teammate at the time.

"Lionel Messi, 7 Ballon d’Ors, he’s there, he’s there." Kylian Mbappe said in French, while pointing over to the World Cup winner.

Lionel Messi subsequently announced that he would be leaving PSG this summer, thanking the fans, the city and the club for the opportunity.

Among the teams that are fighting for his signature are Inter Miami, Al Hilal, and ex-club Barcelona.

It really is anyone's guess where the tricky magician could go, but a large majority of the football world would love nothing more than to see him back at his boyhood club Barcelona.

As for French superstar Kylian Mbappe, it looks like he is set to run his contract down at PSG, meaning he will stay another year, as Real Madrid's interest in the forward has cooled - for this summer at least.

PSG have had a disappointing season by their standards though, getting knocked out in the round of 16 in the Coupe de France and the Champions League, while labouring to the Ligue 1 title, a league that they are expected to breeze through.

Rumours have been circulating about a revamp at the club, with head coach Galtier's future in question, and with Messi and Sergio Ramos both confirming their departures yesterday.
