Kieran Trippier's move to Newcastle United will make him their highest rated player on FIFA 22, and he'll actually be their best player on the game since FIFA 08.
Trippier looks set to become the first signing under Newcastle's new owners, with January expected to be big month for signings at St James' Park.
The Atletico Madrid full back, who was linked with a move to Manchester United last summer, will reportedly bank £7.5 million-a-year for his return to the Premier League.
Trippier will straight away be one of the team's best players and, according to FIFA 22 rankings, he'll actually be the number one player at the club.
Not only will he be the best player this season, according to the FIFA franchise, and the last time anyone at Newcastle had a similar card was Michael Owen, 12 years ago.
On this year's edition of the game, Newcastle's keeper's Martin Dubravka started the season as the highest rated game with an 81.
Behind the 32-year-old, forward's Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin are the next highest rated players on 79 and Trippier will easily eclipse them all.
The former Tottenham Hotspur full back may not be number one for too long however, with Newcastle linked with many players in January.
Amongst those linked with a move to the north east is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, with the Arsenal forward rated as 85 on FIFA 22.
Trippier's move from Atletico Madrid could be seen as a coup for the Magpies, with the Spanish sides' manager Diego Simeone admitting he doesn't want his player to leave the club.
"We want him to stay, but you can’t force anyone to stay. An extraordinary player," the title winning manager said recently.
"He is an extraordinary footballer that has given us a lot. But as I have said, it depends on him. We hope that Trippier can stay but I don’t know if you can’t hold anyone back in life.”
Whether his 84 out of 100 performances will be good enough to keep Newcastle in the Premier League remains to be seen.
