Kai Havertz suffered a broken finger scoring the opening goal against Spurs this evening.
The German put Chelsea 1-0 up in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg when he got in behind after Japhet Tanganga gave the ball away cheaply.
Marcos Alonso played him in and Havertz's effort was bundled into the net by Davinson Sanchez, though the goal was given to him as the effort was on target.
Chelsea players mobbed him but Havertz himself wasn't quite in the mood for celebration.
He was in serious discomfort and seen clutching his hand after his momentum led to a nasty fall while colliding with Hugo Lloris.
Then, the former Bayer Leverkusen man received treatment on a finger injury that looked incredibly painful.
Havertz's did not look how it is supposed to but he had his finger taped and bandaged up and carried on playing through the pain barrier.
Havertz had scored a hat-trick against Barnsley and netted against Southampton in the early rounds of the Carabao Cup at Stamford Bridge.
However, he was forced off at half-time after struggling with the problem.
Chelsea extended their lead in the first half when Ben Davies put through his own net in comical fashion.
Hakim Ziyech whipped in a wicked free-kick that Tanganga headed against Davies, the ball unfortunately ricocheting past Lloris for a second Chelsea goal.
Sluggish Spurs did not manage a single shot on target in the first half against Chelsea, with Antonio Conte left frustrated with his side's showing on his return to West London.
