Germany star Kai Havertz has spoken candidly about N’Golo Kante’s lifestyle after revealing his Chelsea teammate had the “same phone for 10 years.”
Kante has become a fan favourite since he burst onto the scene at Leicester City in 2015, with the Frenchman playing an instrumental role in the Foxes’ remarkable Premier League title win.
The 31-year-old ex-Leicester midfielder left the King Power in 2016 and signed for Chelsea, with the Blues paying a reported £30m fee to land Kante.

Kante has since lifted a Premier League title, a Champions League, a Europa League and an FA Cup during his glittering spell at Stamford Bridge.
The France international is out of contract with Chelsea in the summer and has been linked with a move away from the Blues, with PSG among the clubs linked with Kante.
Kante has often been admired for his humble lifestyle off the pitch, including the fact that he owned a Mini Cooper and would happily drive it to training sessions.

Speaking to The Guardian, Havertz has revealed that Chelsea teammate Kante “doesn’t care” about lavishly spending his money on things like cars and clothes.
“There’s an image of footballers, all fancy and diamonds and this and that,” he said.
“I have met players who spend so much on things where you think: ‘Why do you do this?’
“There are players who don’t care but others do. It’s not always about saying: ‘I did this.’ That’s sometimes a bit fake.

“I’ve met different characters. Toni Kroos is one: calm, down to earth, doesn’t care about flashy stuff. He knows life is not only football.
“N’Golo Kante is another. He’s had the same phone for 10 years, doesn’t care about cars, doesn’t care about clothes.
“You cannot judge people because of [spending]. If that makes them happy, I don’t care. Maybe in their heart they are also good people, they just want to act cool.
“Sometimes maybe it’s kind of a protection.”
