Highlights of Jorginho’s performance against Arsenal in 2019 have resurfaced as the Italian sealed a move to the Emirates on transfer deadline day.
After Mohamed Elneny’s latest injury setback, Arsenal have been in the market to sign a midfielder.
Brighton and Hove Albion star Moises Caicedo was linked with a move to North London but the Gunners saw two bids rejected as the Seagulls made it clear their man was not for sale.

Mikel Arteta quickly shifted his attention to Jorginho, a much more experienced and cheaper option for what could be a short-term solution.
Since the news broke, the highlights video of Jorginho’s performance during Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Arsenal back in December 2019 has resurfaced.
The Italian midfielder started on the bench and with Chelsea 1-0 down, manager Frank Lampard decided to sub Jorginho on.

What followed was a commanding performance which inspired the Blues to come back from a goal down to steal all three points.
Jorginho scored the equaliser in the 83rd minute before Tammy Abraham netted the winner three minutes from time.
That game was one of Arteta’s first few games in charge of the Gunners and fans are wondering whether that was the performance that caught the Spaniard’s eyes.
It is well documented that Arteta is a fan of Jorginho as the 31-year-old has been linked with a move to Arsenal in previous seasons.

A third added: “Never forget this game he came on and he literally changed the game.”

After Jorginho’s move was confirmed, Arteta said: “Jorginho is a midfield player with intelligence, deep leadership skills and a huge amount of Premier League and international experience.
“Jorginho has won in his career, but he still has the hunger and huge willingness to contribute here.
“We are so pleased to sign Jorginho and welcome him and his family to the club.”
