Former Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp was sent a brutal dig by Manchester United fans during at half-time of the clash against Chelsea.

Erik ten Hag's men took the lead after just six minutes thanks to a well-worked free-kick from Christian Eriksen, which eventually found the experienced head of Casemiro who guided the ball past Kepa Arrizabalaga in the Chelsea goal.

The Blues looked as if they might get back in the game after going behind, with several well worked chances between the likes of Mykhailo Mudryk, Lewis Hall, Carney Chukwuemeka and Kai Havertz unfolding. However, much like the rest of the season, the finishing touch evaded the players on each occasion.

United eventually doubled their lead with Casemiro playing an influential role once again just before half-time. His dinked, no-look pass perfectly played Jadon Sancho through before the winger fired the ball across the face of goal for Antony Martial to tap home.

With a two-goal lead at the break United fans and players were all smiles, with pundit Jamie Redknapp also joining in with the jovial mood during the interval. Albeit for very different reasons.

During Sky Sports' half-time coverage, Redknapp was interviewed pitch-side for his insight into the game but the segment was ultimately overwhelmed by United fans who serenaded the former England international with an explicit chant. They said: "Jamie Redknapp, what a w*****, what a w*****!"

Fans have since reacted to the chant, with a few of the replies listed below...

@DavidRo63584857: I don't normally agree with scum fans, but on this occasion....

@Faryfarhan: Moment of the day.

@ronanesthetic1: Correct.

@thekingofstats1: Highlight of the game!

@whatsiobhandid: Trying to laugh it off.

@adammckinney5: Indeed he is.
