YouTuber and football fanatic JaackMaate has called on Müller to help make ‘Rice Rice Baby’ the nation’s song for the biggest tournament of the year.
This week, Jaackmaate took to his Instagram to call on Müller for support, declaring his intentions via his Story which caught the attention of the brand. Following some back and forth between the pair, it seems we might be about to hear 'Rice, Rice Baby' quite often this winter.
Flashback to 2018 every football fan, whether they were at the ground, in the pub or in their living rooms, are chanting ‘Southgate You’re The One!’ at the top of their lungs. On television, you’re watching Southgate gee up fans and dance a lot as they sing his name.
The chant went so viral that we even had Atomic Kitten, the original singers of the song, singing the chant at events.
This winter JaackMaate has put his support behind Rice Rice Baby being the new fan soundtrack. He’s made it his mission to make sure that whilst everyone is throwing their drinks into the air celebrating a win this December, the nation will be singing Declan Rice’s name.
Who knows, we may even hear Millwall and Tottenham fans chanting a West Ham player’s name. It could happen, people.
This infectious chant (sung to the tune of Vanilla Ice’s ‘Ice Ice Baby’) was performed live last year by the West Ham midfielder himself after taking part in a Twitter karaoke space to over 75,000 people including Declan’s national teammate Jude Bellingham. He later performed the rap on the hit show A League of Their Own.
The song arose after the West Ham faithful chanted it to their number 41 from the stands as the star made a name for himself.
After Declan sang his rendition, the internet went into a frenzy and JaackMaate believes it’s the perfect time to bring it back with the help of Müller. He’s reached out to them publicly to aid the spread of awareness for the chant.
Whilst Rice is bringing the energy in midfield, it’s only fair that us as fans replicate that energy off the pitch with our very own tribute of Rice Rice Baby.
We’re asking you to create your own ‘Rice Rice Baby’ whether that’s just chanting with a group of mates, banging the pots and pans together or getting your dog to bark to the iconic drumbeat.
