In a brutally honest assessment of England's top flight, Arsenal legend Ian Wright says the Premier League would be "s**t" if it wasn't for Liverpool.
The 58-year-old former Crystal Palace, Arsenal and West Ham striker appeared on stage with Emma Byrne, Karen Carney and Michael Owen during the most recent Off the Ball roadshow in Dublin when he made the viral comments.
As they discussed the upcoming season, the growth of women’s football and other topics, Wright brought up the importance of having Jurgen Klopp's side compete with reigning champions Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola's men have lifted the Premier League title four times in the past five seasons and while Liverpool have won it once in that time, Wright believes it would be a "procession" if they weren't competing with City.

“I thought Fulham were amazing on the first [weekend]," he said. "They put the pressure on Liverpool and the reason why they done that is because you know that Liverpool, who have chased down a Man City side that are imperious…
“Right, if it wasn’t for Liverpool this f***ing league should be s***," he added.
“Simply because, City beat them on two occasions by one point, and then they hammered them out of sight. If it weren’t for Liverpool it would be a procession.”

Ahead of their league clash against Manchester United on Monday night, Liverpool are currently five points behind second-place Manchester City after they could only pick up two points from their first two games.
As former Arsenal forward Wright mentioned during his roadshow appearance, newly promoted Fulham were impressive in their opener at Craven Cottage, as a brace from Aleksander Mitrovic earned Marco Silva's side a point.
The Reds were also held to a draw against Crystal Palace last week but despite a slow start, Jurgen Klopp's men are expected to mount a title charge again in the coming months.
Following their first two results, former Manchester United winger Andrei Kanchelskis says Jurgen Klopp is "feeling the pressure" after a slow start to the 2022/23 campaign.

"I understand Klopp because he is used to winning titles, the Champions League, now everybody is criticising Liverpool, which is why he was aggressive to journalists like previous Manchester United managers have been," he said via The Mirror.
"Liverpool have started badly, but so have United."
