Spanish FA unhappy with Gavi after behaviour on international duty

The Barcelona star may be impressing for his club side but clearly the international set-up aren't happy with something Gavi is doing.

Barcelona midfielder Gavi has annoyed the Spanish FA, after his behaviour during the international break for Luis de la Fuente's team.

Spain's attempts to reach Euro 2024 hit an unexpected bump in the road on Tuesday night, as they went down 2-0 to Scotland at Hampden Park.

Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay continued his extremely out of character form, scoring his third and fourth goals of the international break to win the game.

It led to Manchester City midfielder Rodri having a complete and utter meltdown and claiming that Scotland don't play football, much to the amusement of Ally McCoist.

After being knocked out of the World Cup at the last 16 stage by Morocco, it's not exactly been a great spell on the pitch for the 2010 World Cup winners.

But it seems that it's not just on the pitch where there's issues, with the Spanish FA becoming unhappy at the actions of one of their young stars.

According to Spanish outlet Relevo, the RFEF weren't pleased with 'several acts' from 18-year-old midfielder Gavi during the international break.

The main issue is said to have revolved around an autograph signing in Malaga, which the central midfielder refused to turn up for.

He claimed he needed to rest and complained of headaches, before a replacement was chosen for him, although he was eventually 'forced' to attend.

There were some fears about how the La Masia graduate might get on with the national team, after clashing with one of his Spain teammates recently.

Footage during the recent El Clasico clash between Barcelona and Real Madrid showed the star respond to Dani Ceballos tet-a-tet with Robert Lewandowski by taking the Real man out off the ball.

However, Ceballos made sure that there were no hard feelings ahead of meeting up with De La Fuente's first squad since taking over from Luis Enrique, saying it was all 'good vibes.'

It's been an interesting period for Gavi at the Nou Camp, with the Catalan giants being unable to register his contract, after La Liga appealed the initial decision to allow it.

Currently he can't wear the number six shirt for the team and, if his contract can't be registered in the summer, then he could leave for free.
