Gary Neville has never been afraid to criticise match officials, both during his playing days at Manchester United and as a pundit at Sky Sports following his retirement.
But he has now been given a taste of just how difficult it is to take charge of a match after refereeing an amateur game in the latest episode of The Overlap on Tour.
In the second episode of the series, which will air on Wednesday night on Sky Max, Neville referees a full game with Jamie Carragher and Roy Keane acting as his assistants on the touchline.

Their performance is overseen by former Premier League official Mike Dean, who retired as a top-flight referee in 2022.
A hilarious preview of the episode, which you can watch below, was posted to Twitter by former Liverpool defender Carragher.
In the clip, Neville is mocked by Dean for his 'lazy' approach to refereeing, with the former United defender's fitness levels called into question.
Neville also struggles to communicate with his assistant referees, most notably Carragher – blaming their crosses wires on the Liverpudlian's strong Scouse accent.

At one point Neville shouts "switch of play" during the match, to which Carragher fires back "you're a referee Gary, not a commentator!".
Meanwhile, Neville is forced to issue a warning when, in true amateur football style, a number of dogs threaten to invade the pitch.
"Just be careful, there's a couple of dogs there behind the goal," warns Neville.
"We need to make sure they don't run on the pitch. Health and safety."

Despite his best efforts, the former United defender failed to win over some of the watching supporters with his performance.
"Few people are calling you a w***** over there," jokes Keane.
To which Neville replies: "Only a few? That's an absolute f***** result!".
The second episode of The Overlap on Tour airs on Wednesday 21st June on Sky Max, with new episodes weekly.
