Gabby Agbonlahor believes Harry Maguire has been one of Manchester United’s best signings since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement after rating him a 7/10 transfer.
Former United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer brought Maguire to Old Trafford in a staggering £80m transfer from Leicester City in 2019.
However, Maguire has often been criticised over his impact at United and lack of consistency after the Red Devils paid a world-record fee for a defender.

The 29-year-old United defender was promoted to club captain, but Maguire faces an uphill battle in saving his Old Trafford career after the arrival of Erik ten Hag.
Maguire has fallen down the pecking order at United this season and has been battling for first-team minutes amid speculation linking him with a transfer away.
Speaking on the talkSPORT EDGE TikTok account, Agbonlahor was presented with a handful of players who United signed in the post-Ferguson era.

The Aston Villa hero rated Maguire a 7/10, putting him alongside Marouane Fellaini and Paul Pogba as the best United transfers out of the ones presented to him.
Behind the trio of Pogba, Fellaini and Maguire were Anthony Martial, Fred, Romelu Lukaku and Aaron Wan-Bissaka with 6/10 scores from Agbonlahor.
Moving into the lower end of the rankings saw Agbonlahor award former Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho, who has failed to make a mark at United, a 5/10 rating.
“Jadon Sancho, I would say, a 5/10. It’s not worked for him so far,” he said.

Angel Di Maria, who won the 2022 World Cup with Argentina in Qatar, earned a 4/10 score from talkSPORT pundit Agbonlahor after his lacklustre season at United.
However, the lowest score that Agbonlahor awarded was to former Ajax star Donny van de Beek, whose career has stagnated since his move to United.
“I think you could go 1/10 and that’s not me being disrespectful,” Agbonlahor said.
“I just think it’s been a disaster of a move for him.”

Van de Beek arrived at Old Trafford in 2020 in an initial £35m transfer, but the Dutchman struggled to secure regular playing time under Solskjaer.

The 25-year-old midfielder was loaned to Everton in a six-month deal last season, but Van de Beek was hindered by injuries and failed to rediscover his best form.

A reunion with ex-Ajax boss Ten Hag was seen as a potential restart for Van de Beek at United, but the Netherlands international still found his first-team minutes limited.
Van de Beek’s season went from bad to worse after he picked up a knee injury in United’s 3-0 win over Bournemouth this month, with the ex-Ajax star ruled out for the rest of the season.
