Fans have slammed Gabby Agbonlahor's comments prior to this evening's Premier League clash between Aston Villa and Liverpool about who he believes is the best keeper in the world.
The former Aston Villa player backed his former side by claiming Emiliano Martinez is the best goalkeeper in the world.
Martinez is still unavailable after playing his part during Argentina's World Cup triumph in Qatar, with Robin Olsen deputising in his place against Liverpool.

As you would imagine, supporters including those of Jurgen Klopp's side have jumped on those comments, but plenty of other football fans were quick to jump on Agbonlahor's comments.
Given that Alisson Becker was warming up about 50 yards behind the pundit, the claims that Martinez is the best in the world may be a touch premature.
Granted, Martinez just played a key role in his country's triumph at the World Cup and is certainly a top-class keeper, but there's certainly an elite group of shot-stoppers around the world who fans and pundits would place above the Villa keeper.

One Liverpool was quick to criticise Agbonlahor, saying: "Gabby's always talking nonsense."
Fans were also simply angered at the mere sight of the former Premier League forward on Amazon Prime as a pundit: "Gabby Agbonlahor? Are you joking me? Amazon Prime have had a howler."
One fan decided to look at the bright side of the Amazon coverage: "Agbonlahor and McManaman pundits for our game today. At least we have Laura Woods presenting and Tyldesley on commentary."

Another wrote: "Alisson Becker is the best goalkeeper in the world, unless you're Agbonlahor of course."
While another fan was gobsmacked by the comments: "Emi Martinez is the best keeper in the world. Yes, Gabby Agbonlahor just said that."
Martinez has also been in the news recently because Villa's new manager Unai Emery is reportedly not a fan of his antics on or off-the-pitch.
Firstly, he wasn't a fan of his celebrations after the World Cup that involved poking fun at Kylian Mbappe, and now the latest news is that he is 'desperate' to sell the former Arsenal keeper in January - that's some welcome after a winning the biggest trophy in football.

If Emery gets his wish to move Martinez on, there's likely to be plenty of suitors lining up to sign the 'best goalkeeper in the world'.
