Zinedine Zidane will only return to management for TWO jobs as the Real Madrid legend is named as favourite to land huge role

Could we see Zinedine Zidane make a return to management?

It has been reported that football icon Zinedine Zidane will only return to management for two jobs.

During his playing career, the Frenchman played for the likes of Cannes, Bordeaux, Juventus and Real Madrid.

On the international stage, Zidane played 108 times for his country, scoring 31 goals.

He has lifted multiple trophies including the Champions League, La Liga, the World Cup and the Euros.

After retiring in 2006, Zidane made a move to management and took charge of Los Blancos on two separate spells, winning a hat-trick of Champions League titles.

Since leaving Madrid in 2021, the 52-year-old has been out of a job.

On Tuesday, Zidane was linked with a return to management after nearly four years away from the dugout.

French outlet Le Parisien reported that Zidane will be the favourite to take over from Didier Deschamps as the manager of the France men's national team.

The role is set to commence after the 2026 World Cup, with Deschamps, as per L'Equipe, believed to be calling a press conference on Wednesday to announce that he will vacate his position after the tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Zinedine Zidane will only return for TWO jobs

As reported by Spanish news outlet Marca, Zidane will only return to management for two jobs, the chance to lead France or the Madrid role.

The report stated: "Has Zidane left the bench?

"The answer is no, but he has very clear ideas. And they are based on just two projects: Real Madrid and the French national team."

It has been suggested that clubs such as Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Juventus have all tried to lure Zidane to become their manager but was told no by the Frenchman.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano also confirmed the Deschamps news, he wrote on social media: "Didier Deschamps, set to announce his decision to LEAVE French national team job after the World Cup 2026. It’s all decided, reports L’Équipé."
