Wrexham star James McClean was brutally welcomed to League One football as footage has shown Birmingham City fans throwing objects at him during the match on Monday.
In a match that has been labelled the EFL celebrity derby, Birmingham City hosted Wrexham in a League One clash, with several big names like David Beckham, Tom Brady, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney all in attendance.
After securing back-to-back promotions over the past two seasons, it was a tough test for Wrexham as they faced a club that was playing in England's second division just months ago.

And after the match on Monday night finished, footage has came out of Wrexham defender McClean being targeted by Birmingham fans late in the match.
With the scoreline at 3-1, McClean was substituted off in the 83rd minute, and it is then that he received the full force of Birmingham fans in attendance.
In one clip, McClean can be seen winding up Birmingham fans as he leaves the pitch to a symphony of boos and verbal abuse.

While another longer clip of the incident shows that one fan tried to throw a beer at the Irishman, only for him to catch it and use the moment to further antagonise the rival fans.
McClean has previously made headlines for his antics on the pitch, such as his pre-season fight with Levi Colwill during the 2-2 draw with Chelsea.
But on this occasion, winding up Birmingham City fans was not enough to impact the game, as the hosts comfortably defeated the Welsh giants 3-1, despite Wrexham taking an early lead through Jack Marriott.

Despite this, Wrexham are still enjoying a fantastic start to the season after being promoted from League Two.
Heading into the fixture, the Welsh side were unbeaten in League One and despite losing, still sit atop the table with four wins, one draw and one loss.
However, after beating the newly-promoted side, Birmingham are now on the same points as Wrexham and have a game in hand in this early stage of the season.

Charlton Athletic also match the two sides on points in League One, but sit in third due to goal difference.
