Speaking on the latest episode of The Overlap, brought to you by Sky Bet, Rooney revealed that two Chelsea stars were tucked into bed by one of the masseuses on international duty with England.

He said: “I used to get one [massage] at 9pm, but the last ones after me were always JT [John Terry] and Lamps [Frank Lampard].

“Bill, who was the Chelsea masseuse, was there and he’d massage them, then they’d go into bed and get their feet out under the bed, and he’d massage them until they fell asleep.”

Rooney added: “Massage their feet until they fell asleep then he tucked them in. I swear.”

The former United man went on to reveal which song he used to sing when he received a massage during Euro 2004.

Rooney’s former teammate, Gary Neville, said: “Is it true that at Euro 2004, you watched Oliver and would sing all the songs whenever you got a massage?”

He replied: “Yes, that’s true. I used to love the ‘Boy For Sale’ bit.”

In total, Rooney played for England on 120 occasions, scoring 53 goals.

The 38-year-old was the country’s record goal scorer until Harry Kane surpassed the tally last year.

Throughout his illustrious career, Rooney has lifted five Premier League titles, three League Cups, one Champions League, one Europa League and one FIFA Club World Cup.
