In the 29th minute, Liverpool ace Cody Gakpo levelled proceedings before the Dutch grabbed all three points late on in the second-half.
Former Manchester United player Wout Weghorst, who enjoyed a loan spell at Old Trafford in the 2022/23 season, scored his side's winner seven minutes from time as he made an instant impact off the bench.
Van Dijk, who captained his team against Poland, hopes the Netherlands will be in contention to go all the way as he name-checked three nations who he considers as the favourites to win the tournament.

Speaking before the Netherlands' 2-1 victory over Poland, he revealed: "Are we favorites? England are really good, Germany, France... but so many other aspects will play a part too. Hopefully we can be up there too."
England and France, who have both yet to play in Germany, are among the favourites to win Euro 2024.
