A compilation of Trent Alexander-Arnold's performance for Real Madrid against Al Hilal has gone viral.

On Wednesday, Alexander-Arnold made his Madrid debut against Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal in the FIFA Club World Cup.

It was also manager Xabi Alonso's official Los Blancos debut after he replaced Carlo Ancelotti.

Madrid went ahead through Gonzalo Garcia in the 34th minute, but were held to a 1-1 draw after Ruben Neves scored a 41st-minute penalty.

Alexander-Arnold endured a difficult debut as Madrid fans criticised him on social media.

Lucas Vazquez eventually replaced the 26-year-old with 65 minutes on the clock.

Shortly after the match, a video of the former Liverpool star's highlights went viral on social media.

The video backed up Madrid fans' claims that Alexander-Arnold had a tough debut as he played a few misplaced passes and lost possession on numerous occasions.

Media outlets in Spain were also quick to react to the full-back's debut, MARCA stated: "Trying to get more into the game. He went too far in a switch to find Vinicius. He was weak in a duel, and the move ended with Al Hilal scoring offside.

"I don't know how you saw it on TV, but Trent getting out of the way during the Al Hilal counterattack ... it left me speechless."

Speaking after the match, Alexander-Arnold reflected: "It's a very proud moment for me. It's a moment that most, if not all players, dream of at some point in their life.

"But it was very challenging to play in that heat and very different from England."

He continued: "It's the first time I've moved clubs. I didn't know what to expect and it's a big change but I'm loving every single minute of it.

"In my mind and in my heart, I know that I made the right decision for me."

Alexander-Arnold and Madrid will be back in action on Sunday when they take on Mexican side Pachuca at the Bank of America Stadium in North Carolina.
