Fan footage emerges of Ange Postecoglou's reaction to Tamworth fans singing x-rated chant at him during FA Cup clash

Fan footage emerges of Ange Postecoglou's reaction to Tamworth fans singing x-rated chant at him during FA Cup clash

The clip from The Lamb Ground has gone viral on social media.

Ange Postecoglou could be seen conducting the crowd at Tamworth as hundreds of supporters aimed an x-rated chant at the Spurs manager during Sunday's FA Cup clash.

Spurs secured their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 3-0 win over National League side Tamworth, who were the lowest-ranked team in the third round of this year's iteration.

It was a far-from-convincing performance from the Premier League outfit, however, and at one stage, Andy Peaks' side were close to a historic giant-killing as they threatened in the latter stages of normal time.

But after the visitors introduced Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski in extra-time, they managed to see off their non-league opponents thanks to goals from Tshikuna [OG], Kulusevski and Johnson.

It was a tough afternoon for Spurs and Ange Postecoglou, who was the subject of an 'unrepeatable' chant at The Lamb Ground, according to the BBC.

In their live report, they wrote: "I can't repeat the chants overheard on the pitchside microphone being aimed at Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou. They concern his weight, his nationality and doubts about his parentage."

Tamworth fans were heard taunting Postecoglou with chants of “Fat Aussie b*****d” and “You're getting sacked in the morning", according to Dom Smith.

The 59-year-old also responded to "W****r" chants by gesturing like he was conducting an orchestra. In fact, fan footage has emerged of the incident.

Speaking in his post-match interview, Postecoglou was full of praise for their non-league opponents.

"It was a challenging game as we expected it to be," he said. "They made it hard for us, with the surface it was about us staying clam and being persistent in our football. In the end, we got the job done."

Asked about the message he delivered to his players going into extra time, Postecoglou added: "Stay clam and persistent. We knew we would finish strong and you could see they were tiring a bit.

"It's a game of football you go into it with trepidation and knowing you can slip up with the challenges. Most parts the boys kept their heads. I thought they stayed clam and persisted and got through.

"We are through to the next round and that was the objective for today. Tamworth did really well and should be proud of their efforts. For us, we move on."
