Soccer AM legends Tim Lovejoy and Helen Chamberlain reunite to launch new project Soccer A-Z

Soccer AM legends Tim Lovejoy and Helen Chamberlain reunite to launch new project Soccer A-Z

The legendary Soccer AM presenters are back.

Soccer AM legends Tim Lovejoy and Helen Chamberlain have reunited to launch a new podcast.

Many football fans were left disappointed when cult TV show Soccer AM aired for the final time in May 2023.

The football-themed comedy talk show aired for 29 years on Sky Sports, and for a long time was essential weekend viewing for English football fans.

Most viewers will agree that the show was at its best when hosted by Tim Lovejoy and Helen Chamberlain between 1996 and 2007, though the latter continued in her presenting role until 2017.

Though the show lost popularity in its final years, fans will be delighted to learn that Lovejoy and Chamberlain are reuniting to present their new podcast Soccer A-Z, produced by DMG Media.

Available from Wednesday 4th September, the duo will bring their trademark chemistry, humour and football chat to football fans across the country - but with a twist.

As the show name suggests, each episode will be themed around a letter of the alphabet, with Lovejoy and Chamberlain tackling a variety of football-related challenges and triumphs based on the letter of the week.

Familiar faces from Soccer AM history will appear as guests, including fan-favourites Sheephead and Tubes, while listeners can get involved by taking part in a weekly quiz.

Upon announcing the show, Lovejoy said: "Helen, the crew and I spent over a decade sharing laughs and unforgettable moments on Soccer AM, and I can’t wait to bring that same energy and passion for football to our new podcast, Soccer A-Z.

"This will be a journey through the history and heart of the game, featuring plenty of familiar faces along the way."

Chamberlain, a trailblazer for women in sports broadcasting, added: "I'm really looking forward to reminding Tim of all the absolute nonsense he thought up, and made us do during the Soccer AM days, as I'm sure he's forgotten most of it - luckily, the rest of us haven't."
