Serbia have claimed they could withdraw from Euro 2024 over chants from Croatia and Albania fans but is there a precedent for teams pulling out of major international tournaments?
Dragan Stojkovic's side kicked off their Euros campaign in Germany with a 1-0 loss to England in Gelsenkirchen.
Jude Bellingham's early opener proved to be the difference and Serbia now face an uphill battle to qualify for the knockout stages from Group C.

However, in the build-up to the fixture on Thursday afternoon, Serbia's future in the tournament has been called into question.
Fans of fellow Balkan nations Croatia and Albania fans are alleged to have chanted 'kill, kill, kill the Serb' during the 2-2 draw between the two nations at the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg on Wednesday.
"First of all, I want to thank our fans for their support in the match against England and I hope we will beat Slovenia," he is quoted as saying by RTS.

"What happened is scandalous and we will ask UEFA for sanctions, even if it means not continuing the competition.
"We are sure that they will be punished, because they have already responded to our appeal to remove the so-called journalist from Albania from the championship."
As the battle with UEFA rumbles on, we take a look at the five other teams that have pulled out of major tournaments in the past...
Austria
The suggestion they withdrew from the 1938 World Cup is slightly misleading but is technically what happened despite it being out of their hands. The country was forced to 'withdraw' due to being occupied by Nazi Germany at the time.

They made it all the way to the semi-finals at the previous World Cup but didn't have a say in France, as Italy went on to lift the trophy.
Scotland
The Scots withdrew from the 1950 World Cup in Brazil, like many other teams, prior to the group stages beginning. They had previously beaten both Switzerland and France on their way to qualification but pulled out before it began. They would go on to make their debut in 1954.
Turkey
Turkey withdrew from the same tournament at the same stage, due to it being unlikely they'd make it out of the group stage. Like Scotland, it would have been their first outing on the World Cup stage but they would regroup for 1954 and make their debut then.
India
The only team that has pulled out and not gone on to feature in the World Cup since. India were another team that cancelled their trip to Brazil in 1950 after it was claimed they were told they were unable to play barefoot.

However, this was untrue and the actual reason was due to disagreements with team selection and a lack of practice in the build-up.
France
The final of the four teams to withdraw from the 1950 World Cup. France were much weaker than the footballing powerhouses we know them as today, with the team ranked lower than Scotland at the time. They too withdrew due to the small chances they'd make a significant impact in the finals.
