Jude Bellingham could face punishment after shocking X-rated outburst picked up during Madrid derby

Jude Bellingham was in action as Real Madrid took on Atletico Madrid.

Jude Bellingham unleashed an X-rated tirade at a linesman during Real Madrid's clash with Atletico Madrid.

On Saturday night, La Liga leaders Real welcomed local rivals Atletico to the Bernabeu as the Madrid derby took place.

During what was a tense encounter between the two Spanish powerhouses, Julian Alvarez gave Diego Simeone's men the lead from 12 yards after 35 minutes.

In the second half, French superstar Kylian Mbappe netted in the 50th minute as the two teams played out a 1-1 draw.

As expected, Real dominated proceedings but were left frustrated by Atletico's world-famous stubborn defensive play.

During the first half, Bellingham appeared to lose his temper after the pitchside microphone picked up an X-rated rant towards an official.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Bellingham was heard shouting: "F*** you, man! F*** off!"

The incident came after the ball went out for a throw-in, but Bellingham lost his cool after the linesman signalled for Atletico instead of Real. You can watch the footage below, the video contains strong language.

Despite swearing at an official, Bellingham was not booked by the referee and it remains to be seen whether La Liga decide to investigate the matter, which could lead to potential retrospective punishment for the Englishman.

As a result of the 1-1 draw, Real remain at the top of the La Liga table, one point ahead of Atletico.

Barcelona will have the chance to close the gap to the top two on Sunday night when they take on Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium.

Speaking after the match, Real boss Carlo Ancelotti said: "The second half went well, the team is disappointed because they believe they deserved to win. We were close.

"But we must be happy, we are still leaders after an intense week and now we have a calmer week until Tuesday [against Manchester City]."

He added: "We came out of the game with good feelings.

"The penalty situation affected the team. Before we played too slowly. In the second half we played with more width, Vinicius and Rodrygo created a lot of danger."
