The Premier League quickly released a statement after a controversial penalty in Fulham's clash with Ipswich Town.
Sammie Szmodics but the visitors ahead at the end of the first half but Fulham started the second period strongly and pushed for an equaliser.

The contact looked clear but incredibly, referee Darren Bond initially waved away protests and did not give the spot-kick. A VAR review ensued and then Bond recognised his error and pointed to the spot in one of the most straightforward overturns in recent memory.
Jimenez made no mistake from the spot and immediately after, the @PLMatchCentre account on X commented on the incident.
They said: "VAR recommended an on-field review for the challenge by Morsy on Wilson, deeming that contact was sufficient for a penalty and occurred inside the area. Upon review, the referee overturned his original call of no penalty."

Just two minutes later though and Ipswich were back in the lead again after Liam Delap's foot was kicked by Timothy Castagne in the box. Delap made no mistake and put the penalty away with aplomb to make it 2-1.
Fulham got a second penalty and a third in the game late on when Jimenez was brought down by Leif Davis, with the Mexican again converting from 12 yards.
Though the right decision was reached for Fulham's first penalty, fans on X were stunned that it wasn't given by the referee in the first place.
