Mason Greenwood’s plans for his international career have reportedly been revealed after Thomas Tuchel’s appointment as England boss.
Earlier in the week, it was confirmed that former Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Paris Saint Germain and Borussia Dortmund manager Tuchel will take over as England’s new head coach in January.
The 51-year-old German will become England’s third foreign boss after Fabio Capello and the late Sven-Goran Eriksson.

During his first press conference, Tuchel said: “I understood very quickly that is it is a big job. I think always the job you are in is the biggest job and it makes no sense to compare, but it feels big and feels like a privilege.
“I think it is pretty obvious I am very emotional. I love what I am doing and am passionate about football. This role just brought the young me alive and brought back my teenage days, to get excited for such a big task.”
He added: “Everyone can be assured we will do it with passion and emotions. We will try to install values and principles and rules as quickly as possible to make the dream come true.”

Upon the arrival of Tuchel, it has been claimed that former Manchester United forward Greenwood, who now plays for French Ligue 1 side Marseille, wants to meet with the English Football Association and the new England boss.
As reported by The Sun, Greenwood has not given up hopes of playing for England again but will accept Jamaica’s invitation if he fails to get back into the Three Lions fold.
A source told the publication: “Mason knows his chances of playing for England again are very slim. But he wants to check with the FA and Tuchel now he has been appointed, to see what they think.
“He is determined to play at the highest level and that means the World Cup. So if England don’t want him, he’ll switch to Jamaica and try and get to the 2026 World Cup that way.”
