For several years, Zinedine Zidane has been linked with the manager's job at Manchester United – and his name has once again emerged amid uncertainty around Erik ten Hag's future.
Ten Hag is fighting to save his Old Trafford career as they sit 14th in the Premier League table with two wins from a possible seven.
In fact, United chiefs held a seven-hour meeting on Tuesday to discuss Ten Hag's immediate future, with co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe pitching three key questions to those in attendance.

For the time being, Ten Hag is likely to take charge of United's clash against Brentford on Saturday but other potential candidates continue to be linked, including Thomas Tuchel.
But what about Zinedine Zidane? The former Real Madrid manager has been out of work since 2021, when he left Los Blancos following three Champions League title wins.
He has recently been linked with the France national team, although French outlet RMC claim Didier Deschamps has no plans to step down in the near future, which could potentially open the door to United.

That being said, Zidane has previously played down joining a club in England.
Back in 2021, as he continued to be linked with United following the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Zidane addressed the rumours in an interview with L'Equipe.
"Would I want to go to Manchester [United]? I understand English, but I'm not completely fluent in it," he said.
"I know that there are coaches who go to clubs without speaking the language, but I work in a different way. Many elements come into play in order to win, it is a global context. I know what I need to win."

Three years prior to those comments, Zidane's agent, Alain Migliaccio, explained why Zidane wouldn't be suited to a job in the Premier League.
"I do not think that he will manage in England," Migliaccio said. "It is much less his style. I have discussed it with him, it does not really attract him."
