Wayne Rooney has given his verdict on Marcus Rashford's struggles in front of goal this season - and it's fair to say it makes grim reading for the Manchester United star.
Rooney knows a thing or two about finding the back of the net - he is United's all-time top scorer with 253 strikes as he surpassed the late Sir Bobby Charlton's record.
And he was also record top scorer for England too, again beating Sir Bobby's total with 53 goals, a tally which has subsequently been beaten by current Three Lions captain Harry Kane who has scored 62 times and counting for his country.
Rashford signed a fresh contract at his boyhood club last summer, penning a deal at Old Trafford running until 2028, and came on the back of his best season in front of goal where he found the back of the net for Erik ten Hag's side 30 times.

This campaign, however, has been poor for both Rashford and United with both parties enduring a difficult campaign.
United were knocked out of the Champions League at the group stage and face a very uphill challenge to be in the competition next season after an underwhelming season in the Premier League and sit sixth in the table as things stand.
Rooney played with Rashford for both club and country towards the end of his time at Old Trafford and he has now had his say on his former team-mate's campaign, and admitted he does not have much sympathy for the 26-year-old, who had only scored six times for United this season prior to today's Premier League clash against Everton.

Speaking as a pundit to TNT Sports, Rooney said: "Not much (sympathy) to be honest.
"He’s in a privileged position where he is playing for Man United. He is the one player that I believe can get my goal scoring record.
"I hope he does but he needs to hit consistency. He is not having the best of seasons, needs to find some form and become a leader."
Though Rashford has committed his long-term future to United, Rooney rose the question if the striker does need to consider moving elsewhere one day.

Rooney said: "It is important the people you have around you, it can get lonely. I hope he's not in that position, you play for United and England so you will get scrutinised.
"You have to get ready. He is a Manchester lad and I really hope that he gets back into form and has a long career here.
"But maybe he needs to move to another club."
