Wayne Rooney has made a shock revelation about one of his old Manchester United teammates, calling him a 'nightmare'.

Former Man United forward Andy Cole joined Gary Neville, Roy Keane, Ian Wright and Rooney on the latest episode of The Overlap - brought to you by Sky Bet.

Cole, who scored 24 goals across all competitions in Man United's treble-winning campaign, touched on his falling out with fellow frontman Teddy Sheringham.

In doing so, Rooney spoke about his own fallouts during his time at Old Trafford, revealing Nemanja Vidic was a 'nightmare'.

The 38-year-old claimed Vidic would often have arguments within the squad, stating he clashed with Ryan Giggs and Patrice Evra during his nine-year spell at the club.

"[Nemanja] Vidic was a nightmare," he said. "He’d have an argument with someone, I remember he didn’t speak to Giggsy [Ryan Giggs] for six months, didn’t speak to Patrice [Evra] for months, he’d have an argument and just wouldn’t speak to them."

The Man United legend then recalled his own dispute with the Serbian defender.

He added: "I had an argument with him once and I remember that he was going down the same route with me, so I pulled him for a chat and said, 'Grow up, what’s up with you? We’re teammates'."

Despite Vidic being a 'nightmare', he won an impressive five Premier League titles and the Champions League whilst at Man United.

Ex-Man United captain Keane also chipped in on players arguing with each other as he explained that it 'never interfered' with the team's targets.

"What’s really important about all of this stuff, the player arguments, hang-ups with Teddy [Sheringham], whatever it is, the key was that even with all of this arguing, it never interfered with our targets as a team," he said. "That was trying to win the following weekend and the next game."
