Man Utd fans spot huge concern during footage of Ruud van Nistelrooy's special training drills

Ruud van Nistelrooy has got to work at Man Utd

New Manchester United coach Ruud van Nistelrooy has got to work but fans have spotted a big concern already.

The legendary forward re-joined the club this summer to form part of Erik ten Hag’s revamped backroom staff at Old Trafford.

United are currently in the United States for their pre-season preparations and during an open training session at the University of California Los Angeles campus, fans were finally given a glimpse into the new training methods employed by the ex-PSV manager.

Friday’s session was led by both Van Nistelrooy and fellow new assistant Rene Hake with some help from ex-United midfielder Darren Fletcher.

One of the drills led by Van Nistelrooy involved a small 7v7 game with the focus on building up from the back.

Eagle-eyed fans on social media watched footage and noticed just eight seconds into one of the drills, midfielder Casemiro gave the ball away to the opposition team, prompting plenty of reaction.

One fan said, “Man what has happened to him,” while another added, “We need to sell this guy asap.”

A third fan added. “He’s genuinely worse on the ball in deeper areas then Fred was which says a lot.”

United are believed to be open to offers from the Brazilian this summer but finding a suitor for the ex-Real Madrid man could prove difficult.

According to GOAL, United want his contract paid off, to receive a transfer fee and would need a tempting salary offer on the table for Casemiro to consider walking away from his huge deal at Old Trafford.

United are believed to have agreed personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte as a direct replacement for the Brazilian but the two teams are yet to agree a transfer for the Uruguayan and the deal could depend on offloading Casemiro.

The 32-year-old has two years remaining on his United contract and made 25 league appearances last season.
