Ruben Amorim has given an update on Marcus Rashford's future at Manchester United after leaving the forward out of his squad for Thursday's Carabao Cup defeat to Tottenham.
Rashford, 27, was first dropped from the United squad along with Alejandro Garnacho for last weekend's Manchester derby, with Amorim stating his decision to leave out the pair was to do with setting high standards at Old Trafford.
Rashford later fuelled speculation he could leave the club in January by admitting in an interview with journalist Henry Winter that he was "ready for a new challenge and the next steps".

While Garnacho returned to the United squad for the Carabao Cup quarter-final clash with Spurs in midweek, Rashford was not included and did not attend the game in north London.
His absence cost United, who were beaten 4-3 in one of the most chaotic games of the season so far.
Amorim's side next face Bournemouth at home in the Premier League on Sunday and the Portuguese insists Rashford could potentially play a part, but only if he impresses in training.
Asked at his pre-match press conference if the England international is available for selection, the United boss replied: "Yes, of course."

Pressed on whether it is a disciplinary matter, he added: "No, no it's the same thing guys. It will be the same thing."
Amorim also provided an update on Mason Mount, who limped off in the 2-1 win over Manchester City at the Etihad last weekend.
Amorim confirmed the former Chelsea midfielder had seen a specialist on Wednesday and would not return for at least "several weeks".
"I don't know the exact date but it's going to be for long," he added. "That's it, it's part of football and you continue."

Amorim added that he will use the injuries of Mount and Victor Lindelof, who was forced off in the defeat to Spurs, to bring them up to speed on his tactics.
"What I can do is to help Mase and teach him how to play our game," said Amorim.
"When he's recovering, try to use that time for him to think about different things.

"The worst part is we don't have time to train like you should do when you are recovering from a lot of injuries. We are always travelling, we have games and trainings, we don't have all the team together and this is really hard to recreate the game before they come to the game.
"You can see with Vic. Vic was recovering, he trained really well, we pushed him, we made all the sprints he should do before he came to the game, but the game is a completely different world.
"They have to have more time to train so it's really hard. We try to manage that with rotation, but even with rotation it is really hard to have all the squad.
"With Mason Mount we are going to help him. It is really hard for the player to be out for so long and he's trying really hard. If they try really hard we will help them until the end."
