Manchester United target Ruben Amorim was given a suspended one-year ban during his first job in management.
The 39-year-old is currently in talks to become the next manager of Manchester United, just a day after the Premier League club decided to sack Erik ten Hag following their 2-1 defeat to West Ham.
Amorim, who has earned a reputation as one of the Europe's most sought-after coaches following a trophy-laden four-year spell at Sporting CP, has enjoyed a rapid rise to the top after taking his first management job in 2018.

The former Benfica midfielder took charge of Portuguese third-division side Casa Pia at the start of the 2018/19 season and to his credit, things looked to be going well following an impressive start to the campaign.
But in January 2019, Amorim was handed a suspended one-year ban for delivering instructions during a match without the required completion of his coaching badges by the Portuguese Football Federation.
Casa Pia were threatened with a points deduction, and Amorim was forced to resign before the end of the season as they faced further punishment. Still, the club eventually achieved promotion thanks, in part, to Amorim's hard work.

In September 2019, the Portuguese coach then took over Braga’s B team and won seven of his first eight games before replacing Ricardo Sa Pinto as first-team manager.
And a short time later, in March 2020, Amorim joined Sporting CP for a reported €10 million – the third-highest transfer fee for a manager in history.
He soon helped Sporting to their first league title in 19 years and now, the highly-rated manager is being tipped to succeed Erik ten Hag at Manchester United – one of the biggest jobs in world football.
So what will Amorim bring to the table, if he gets the United job?

Vitor Campelos, the head coach of Portuguese top-division side AVS, has given an insight into what to expect.
"He has this positive mindset, a really good mentality," Campelos told Sky Sports.
"He has created a good connection between him and the players and also with the [Sporting Lisbon] president. He is always straight with the players and even with the press he is a straight person. Even at Sporting, there is good money. It is not so easy to change to another team."

Campelos added: "Ruben is waiting. He is smart. He is a clever guy. For sure, he is waiting to take the right step. Waiting for a team where he can have success."
