Roy Keane has revealed what he did when a Manchester United staff member told him to 'f*** off' in front of the rest of the squad.

Former United captain Keane had a fearsome reputation during his playing career, which he has continued as both a manager and no-nonsense pundit since retirement.

He famously fell out with United legend Sir Alex Ferguson on several occasions during his time at Old Trafford, with one disagreement over an interview in which he criticised his teammates resulting in his departure from the club.

Keane does not suffer fools gladly and was quick to call out one United staff member who challenged him in the dressing room at the club's training ground.

On the latest episode of Stick to Football: The Overlap Special, brought to you by Sky Bet, Keane, Gary Neville, Ian Wright and Jill Scott discussed the issue of unwanted coaches being in the dressing room.

Neville said he particularly took issue with goalkeeper coaches entering the dressing room outside of match days.

"I feel like goalkeeping coaches, always during my career they used to come in the dressing room – I don't mean the dressing room on match days, I mean the dressing room during training times. That was a no no in our dressing room. No coaches were allowed in our dressing room at United. They didn't come in," he said.

To which Keane replied: "Nobody was allowed in."

Neville continued: "Nobody was allowed in. Don't come in. Only the lads. It's our space, our private space, our sanctuary. Goalkeeping coaches would sometimes come in..."

Keane then interjected: "How many people did I fall out with at United when people came in?

"And they just think that they're allowed in by working there. They've worked at the club for a long time or they're a youth team coach and they think they're allowed in to get stuff signed. I'd go 'what are you doing?' and they'd go 'I've been here since 1936' and I said 'It doesn't matter'.

"It's about your boundaries. A guy – remember he swore at me? It was funny. He came and I said 'what are you doing?'. He said 'I'm just getting something [signed]...' – and he'd done it a couple of times. I wouldn't do it the first time."

Wright then asked: "He was annoying you?"

To which Keane replied: "Yeah. He told me to f*** off. And I said 'you f*** off, get out'."

Scott then asked: "And did he get out?"

"Of course he did," Keane replied.
