Rio Ferdinand’s social media post reacting to Manchester United’s move for Leny Yoro has sent Manchester United fans wild.

As per the Athletic, Yoro is on his way to the UK to undergo a medical and finalise personal terms with United. An agreement is thought to have been agreed between Lille and United on an initial £52million fee.

While Yoro initially wanted to join Real Madrid, he is thought to have warmed to the idea of moving to United.

Lille favour him signing for the Premier League side given the 18-year-old has just a year remaining on his deal and they could lose him for free next year.

While the deal is not yet thought to be completed, Ferdinand quote tweeted Fabrizio Romano’s post announcing the move was in the pipeline, and simply wrote the eyes emoji followed by a wink emoji.

This has led to several fans questioning whether the former United centre-back has some inside information.

One person responded to Ferdinand’s tweet, saying: “Show us the DMs now Rio.”

Another said: “We've got the next Rio Ferdinand and Raphael Varane.”

A third added: “Him and Lisandro partnership hope they give us Rio and Vidic flashbacks.”

A fourth wrote: “Rioooo We Are Manchester United.”

A fifth merely commented: “He's coming.”

Yoro came through Lille's youth system to make his first-team debut in May 2022.

Last term he played 44 times as Lille finished fourth in Ligue 1.

United had also been linked to Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt, with the 24-year-old thought to be keen to join and talks said to have been positive with the Bundesliga side.

De Ligt played under United manager boss Erik ten Hag at Ajax where they won the Eredivisie and reached the Champions League semi-final in 2019.

United are looking to replace Raphael Varane after he left the club following the expiration of his contract.
