Premier League club to 'hijack' Napoli's move for Man Utd star Alejandro Garnacho after 'unacceptable' comment

Premier League club to 'hijack' Napoli's move for Man Utd star Alejandro Garnacho after 'unacceptable' comment

Alejandro Garnacho is being tipped to leave Manchester United.

A shock Premier League club could reportedly look to hijack Napoli's move for Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho.

Since the January transfer window opened, Argentine forward Garnacho has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford.

Recently, it was claimed that United would 'reluctantly' accept big offers for some of their players in order to adhere to profit and sustainability rules.

Over the past few days, Italian Serie A giants Napoli have been heavily linked with a move for Garnacho.

It has been claimed that the 20-year-old is open to moving to Naples and that Napoli have given the green light to push ahead with the transfer.

However, it has now been reported that a Premier League club has entered the race.

As reported by Football Transfers, Tottenham Hotspur have made an enquiry about Garnacho's availability.

A source said, as per One Football: "For Tottenham, the South American fits the profile of a long-term successor to their talismanic captain Son Heung-min."

In addition, the report suggested that Spurs are considering an opening bid valued at around £58 million.

Speaking after Spurs' 2-1 defeat by Arsenal, manager Ange Postecoglou was far from impressed with his team, branding it as 'unacceptable'.

He said: "I just thought the first half in particular was just way too passive. We allowed Arsenal to control the game and we're just nowhere near aggressive enough with and without the ball. And, you know, allowed them to sort of feel comfortable in the game and that's not what we're about.

"It's unacceptable. It's a big game, we should be ready for that. And I said we were nowhere near the team that we can be in that first half. Our league form's unacceptable, the results are unacceptable and it needs to change… as I said, our form and our results are nowhere near good enough so we need to change that."

Spurs are back in Premier League action this weekend when they take on Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon.
