Manchester United stars Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo have reportedly requested that Ruben Amorim considers giving an out-of-favour player a second chance.
Cunha, 26, joined Man United from Wolves for a fee of £62.5 million back in June before Mbeumo, 25, arrived from Brentford for up to £71 million in late July.
Both are tasked with improving United after the Red Devils endured a torrid season in 2024/25, finishing a record-low 15th in the Premier League as well as losing against Spurs in the Europa League final.
18-year-old Paraguayan left-back Diego Leon has also arrived at Old Trafford, while Marcus Rashford has departed for Barcelona on a season-long loan with an option to buy for around £26million next summer.

Christian Eriksen, Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof were released in June.
While question marks remain over the futures of out-of-favour stars Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia.
However, according to reports from journalist Ben Jacobs, Cunha and Mbeumo believe that one man should be given a second chance and that there’s a “feeling” that he could fit into Amorim’s system.

Speaking on The United Stand, Jacobs explained: “There's a feeling from Cunha, Mbeumo, and other senior Man Utd players that Antony is a good fit in Amorim's system.”
Of course, Antony, who is contracted to United until June 2027, spent the second half of the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Real Betis, where he impressed with nine goals and five assists in 26 appearances for the Andalusian outfit.
It is unclear if Antony is willing to stay at United amid interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia, Betis and Erik ten Hag-managed Bayer Leverkusen.
Back in May, a visibly emotional Antony described how he “couldn’t take it anymore” during a tough spell at United.

"Playing football was always something that I loved, and I went through difficult times when I didn't feel that pleasure anymore,” Antony told TNT Sports Brazil.
"I would always talk to my brother, I used to say, 'I can't do it anymore, I can't do it anymore'. He said: 'Hold on a little longer and things will change'.
"I even get emotional because it was very difficult for me. Only I know what it was like inside the house, not even having the strength to even play with my son, having days without eating, staying in my room.

"It was very complicated, but with the help of my family with the help of God, I managed to turn things around. I'm already very happy here."
