Manchester United loanee Mason Greenwood has made a decision on his next transfer move, it has been claimed.
Greenwood joined Getafe on loan in the summer upon the conclusion of a United internal investigation into the player’s conduct. The club deemed that the 22-year-old should restart his career elsewhere following his arrest in January 2022 for attempted rape, controlling behaviour and assault.
While Greenwood, who has long denied the allegations, had all the charges dropped last February, United decided to move the attacker on amid major backlash from supporters over his potential return.

At Getafe, Greenwood has impressed, netting five goals and claiming a further five assists. Such form has seen the one-cap England international widely linked with a future transfer to Barcelona.
Meanwhile, United’s minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe left the door ajar for a Greenwood return, adding that the decision must be made based on “the club’s values”.
Nevertheless, Getafe president Angel Torres has claimed Greenwood is keen to stay with the Spanish club for another season.

“They asked us about it, there was a lot of talk about the issue of abuse and we found out what had happened and I said, ‘let’s go’,” Torres told Spanish radio station Cope.
“He has a clear conscience, he is very comfortable and crazy about staying another year.
“It’s a matter that they [United] have to decide. There is new ownership. They have to decide.
“In Spain he has a market but they [Barcelona] have money. Barca’s way of playing would suit him well but it depends on Manchester United. If it’s true, he’ll tell me.”

Earlier this week Ineos owner Ratcliffe admitted he had not ruled out Greenwood plying his trade at Old Trafford.
The petrochemicals billionaire told the Athletic: “It’s a fresh decision. I can talk about the principle. I am not going to talk about Mason. I am familiar with it. The principle is the important one. We will have other issues going forward.
“You are dealing with young people who have not always been brought up in the best circumstances, who have a lot of money and they don’t always have the guidance they should have.

“What we need to do when we have issues like that is understand real effects, not the hype. Then we need to make a fair decision in the light of the club’s values. That’s what we need to do and that’s how we will deal with it.”
