Ruben Amorim has explained the decision behind making a u-turn on Marcus Rashford and finally bringing him back into the Manchester United squad.
Rashford was omitted from Amorim's matchday squad for four consecutive fixtures, starting with the derby win away at rivals Manchester City on 15 December.
Alejandro Garnacho was also left out but soon made a return, though Rashford was again absent for defeats to Spurs, Bournemouth and Wolves - with his long-term future at Old Trafford looking bleak.
Amorim has continually cited Rashford's performance in training as a key factor for why he was being overlooked, while he also had his say on a shock interview where the 27-year-old said he is "ready for a new challenge and the next steps" following on from his derby snub.

Asked if Rashford had "been showing anything different" following the loss to Wolves at Molineux, Amorim damningly told Amazon Prime Video: "If he's not here, you can make up your mind".
But despite strong rumours indicating an exit could be imminent, Rashford arrived at Old Trafford with the United squad for the visit of Newcastle United on Monday.
Sky Sports cameras picked up on Rashford's arrival and he was then confirmed as a substitute when the teams were released before kick-off.

"Selection," he told Neville in his final question when asked about Rashford coming back in.
"We have lot of players outside [suspended]. Like I said every week, I choose my players and he was there to be chosen. So this time he is here."
