Manchester United are open to exchanging several players with Napoli to bring Victor Osimhen to the club, according to reports.
Osimhen, 25, is currently on loan at Turkish outfit Galatasaray, having fallen out of favour at Napoli after the Nigerian publicly stated that his dream was to play in the Premier League one day.
In the summer of 2024, the forward was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea and PSG, but no such transfer materialised, with Napoli’s president Aurelio de Laurentiis insisting the club receive a “full release clause”, according to BBC Sport.
It was thought that Chelsea considered both a loan deal and a permanent transfer for the African striker but ultimately decided against a move on deadline day of the summer window due to their “strict new wage structure”.

So, with his bridges seemingly burnt in Naples, he was shipped out to the Istanbul-based side as the Turkish transfer window remained open until September 16.
Although he has been in impressive form – with nine goals and three assists in 11 Super Lig games – during his time in Turkey, a player of his class should arguably be playing in one of Europe’s top five leagues.
Now, it has emerged that Man United have been “offered the chance to sign” the player in January, according to TBR.
The reports suggest that the Red Devils have been “approached” regarding a potential transfer with the “footballing department” said to be “assessing their options”.

If he were to join United, Osimhen would compete with Marcus Rashford, Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund for a spot in Ruben Amorim’s starting XI.
Nigeria international Osimhen was close to joining United in 2020, according to his brother, Andrew Osimhen.
"Manchester United wanted Victor [Osimhen], but he told me something like he had too much respect for Odion Ighalo to be competing for shirts with his senior colleague," Andrew Osimhen told Complete Sports.

Of course, Igahalo, 35, was on loan at United from Shanghai Shenhua during the 2020/21 season.
As for Osimhen, he is out of contract at Napoli in June 2025, with a January sale allowing the Serie A outfit to at least receive some sort of fee for the player, as he would otherwise be able to leave for free next summer.
TBR’s report suggests that a cash deal would not be enough to tempt Napoli to sell the Nigerian, with the Italian club holding “an interesting” in three United attackers.
Hojlund, 21, and Zirkzee, 23, are both the subjects of interest, having both previously played in the Italian topflight for Atalanta and Bologna, respectively. Rashford, 27, is also thought to be admired by the Azzurri.
