Manchester United fans all have the same idea after realising how much Kobbie Mainoo earns compared to Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal.
Mainoo’s future at Man Utd is uncertain after reports emerged on Friday claiming he is “minded to reject” a contract offer from the club.
The Guardian reported that United would be willing to sell the player for around £70m as the England international could “seek a move abroad”.
Mainoo’s representatives have been in contract negotiations for some time – with the player having less than two years left on his deal, which expires in 2027.

Earlier this week, it was reported by the Mail that while “fresh talks” were ongoing between Mainoo and the club, his “representatives want a pay rise to £180,000-a-week plus bonuses which would bring him in line with his teammates”.
Currently, Mainoo reportedly earns £20,000 per week, according to Capology. United’s highest earner is Casemiro, who pockets around £350,0000.
Part of the reason for his low wage is the fact that he is an academy graduate and hasn’t been bought by United and transferred from another club.

But how does his wage compare to fellow young players' across Europe?
Well, one of the most spoken about teenagers in world football is Barcelona’s Yamal, 17, who is arguably ahead of Mainoo, 19, in his development despite being younger.
The Spain international earns a reported €32,115 (£27,000) per week – just £7,000 more than Mainoo’s reported wage.
And fans on social media have their say on Mainoo’s supposed wage demands.

One said: "Yamal earns €30K at Barcelona yet United fans think Mainoo deserves £180k for 14th place."
Another added: "180k is madness, his wage value is around Amad or less. United fans have yet to learn from the mistakes of giving these underperforming players huge wages."
While a third commented: "Both of them are about to renew, so Yamal won’t be on 30k for very long. Compare once they renew."
As a fourth explained: "And he’s 18, you’re not supposed to be earning £200k a week lmao."

Mainoo is currently sidelined with a muscle injury and has not played since early February.
