Not all Manchester United fans agreed with their former captain’s take on who the club should sign.
United are currently 13th in the Premier League, ahead of Sunday’s fixture away at Tottenham Hotspur.
Ruben Amorim has welcomed just two signings so far this season, with youngsters Ayden Heaven and Patrick Dorgu arriving in the winter transfer window.

However, Amorim, 40, has arguably not been able to spend the money on signings that he may have hoped for when he arrived at the club in November.
But former United captain, Gary Neville, offered his opinion on who he who he thinks the Red Devils should sign this summer and it is one of his former teammates.
Neville, 49, recommended that the club re-sign Brighton forward Danny Welbeck.

The former England international has registered six goals and four assists in 19 Premier League appearances for the Seagulls this season.
Welbeck, 34, came through the ranks at United and made 142 appearances for the side before signing for Arsenal in 2014.
“He was let go too quickly at United," Neville told Sky Sports on Friday evening. "If you think about Louis van Gaal, his style of play is very precise.
“Now Danny Welbeck wasn’t precise in his game back then, so he (Van Gaal) just let him go. He didn’t fancy him at all.
“But he’s actually perfect for how Manchester United should play. Threatening space in behind, playing off front players. This idea that he’s not good enough for Manchester United is absolutely rubbish.

“He’s good enough to be in a pool of three or four strikers at Manchester United. For instance, Liverpool have three, four, five forward players across their forward line. They’re all of differing abilities and different types.”
Although signing a 34-year-old forward who left the club 11 years ago may not be as exciting as a big-money transfer, Neville arguably has a point.
Welbeck’s six league goals this term mean he has scored more than Rasmus Hojlund – two league goals – and Joshua Zirkzee – three league goals – combined.
But some fans did not agree and gave their take on social media.

One said: "Welbeck moved on. We moved on. End of discussion."
Another added: "And this is why Gary Neville was a bad manager, so anything he says do the opposite."
A third commented: "Why would Welbeck want to go to a club struggling in the bottom half of the table? Brighton are levels ahead of Man Utd now... be better off at Everton."
While a fourth explained: "Might as well sign Wayne Rooney... Gary Neville is competing very hard with Rio Ferdinand and Paul Scholes as the worse ex-United player who is an analyst now."
