Manchester United fans have just realised the reason Amad was shown a yellow card during their 2-2 draw against Liverpool yesterday – and they have been left stunned by the decision.
Amad, 22, put in a fine showing at Anfield, scoring United’s equaliser with just ten minutes of normal time left to play to hand his side a well-earned point.
The Ivorian has gone from strength to strength since Ruben Amorim arrived at the club in November.

He has been employed on the right side of an attacking midfield two in Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 formation.
Yesterday's performance was the latest in a string of excellent showings, with his notable contributions coming in big games.
In December, he single-handedly swung the Manchester derby in United’s favour, winning a late penalty, which was converted by Bruno Fernandes before scoring a stoppage-time winner of his own to put United 2-1 up against Manchester United.

But aside from his performance yesterday, United fans discussed Amad for another reason. During the 53rd minute of the game, referee Michael Oliver showed the United winger a yellow card, and the player himself looked surprised as he pointed towards himself with a shocked expression on his face.
Now, it has finally become clear why Oliver, 39, booked the player.
After Lisandro Martinez put United ahead with a sublime finish past Alisson into the roof of the net, Amad booted the ball into the celebrating United fans, who were gathered at the Anfield Road end of the ground.

IFAB law 12 states that "players can celebrate when a goal is scored, but the celebration must not be excessive" and must be cautioned if seen "kicking or carrying the ball away".
But fans on social media were quick to give their thoughts on what they thought was a 'harsh' booking.
One said: "Yep! Absolute disgrace. It was the away fans ffs."
Another added: "At Anfield, anything goes..for opposing teams. That lot have a permanent 12th man."

A third explained: "Honestly this stuff gets my blood boiling. They think they can book anyone for whatever they feel like on the pitch."
While a fourth commented: "Did Salah get booked for celebrating and celebrating again by sitting on the ground, just wondering."
