Wayne Rooney left the BBC Sport panel in stitches after revealing how Memphis Depay turned up to a reserve game at Manchester United.
Depay was tipped for stardom when he joined United, and soon showed his potential, scoring twice against Club Brugge in a Champions League play-off encounter.
But that marked the high point of Dutchman's United career and he rapidly nosedived.

Depay went on to be sold to Lyon for £21million in 2017 and he has since gone on to enjoy relative success at Atletico Madrid and Barcelona.
When asked whether Depay’s positive reputation at United was deserved Rooney said: “yes and no” before explaining that the Dutchman once turned up to a reserved game “in a Rolls Royce wearing a cowboy hat.”
It was an anecdote that drew a rapture of laughter from Alan Shearer, Cesc Fabregas and Gary Lineker.

Rooney recalled: "I think he firstly you can never knock his work rate, his attitude in training. He always came in, he worked really hard every single day to try and improve himself.
"It was mainly, more a few things off the pitch. I've spoken about [when] he turned up to a reserve game once [trying] to be lowkey.
"He turned up in a Rolls Royce and a cowboy hat. That was Memphis.

"If you look at it, he was more of a winger at Manchester United and he's adapted, changed his game, his movement was fantastic. He's a threat [in front] of goal.
"He's probably a little inconsistent over the last few years, but I think he's a player the French team will have to keep an eye on because he's got ability."
