Sir Jim Ratcliffe has set out five clear rules for Man Utd's transfer strategy including ban on 'Galactico' signings

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has set out five clear rules for Man Utd's transfer strategy including ban on 'Galactico' signings

Manchester United are making huge changes to how they conduct transfers under Sir Jim Ratcliffe's new regime.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has set a list of five clear rules for Manchester United's transfers going forward.

Ratcliffe and INEOS are making huge changes across multiple departments since purchasing a 27.7 per cent stake in the club and taking the lead on footballing operations.

There is a £1 billion investment from Ratcliffe, whose INEOS colleagues Sir Dave Brailsford and Jean-Claude Blanc are also involved in a mass restructuring.

United are set to only have just over £35 million to spend and are prepared to sell a number of first-team players as part of an overhaul.

But it's emerged, as per Neil Custis from The Sun, that Ratcliffe has five new rules which will shape United's approach.

Erik ten Hag's future at Old Trafford is still uncertain even with the FA Cup final triumph over Manchester City but whoever is in charge for next season will have rules to follow.

There will be an age limit of 25 for new signings and therefore no 'Galactico' transfers in the near future.

Deals like the £70 million capture of Casemiro from Real Madrid would not happen under the new policy introduced.

Ten Hag has received criticism for his transfer decisions as United, often signing players he worked with previously or with ties to the Eredivisie in some form.

Should he stay put, he would not have such power. Instead, the manager would be asked which position he wanted to strengthen in, as opposed to selecting the player.

INEOS will due all the groundwork on potential additions, coming up with a three-player shortlist that the manager will make his choice from.

In terms of style of play, a clear philosophy will be set out by technical director Jason Wilcox, formerly of Manchester City and Southampton.

He has been joined another former City employee in Omar Berrada, while the club are still hopeful of bringing in Dan Ashworth from Newcastle.
