Manchester United's hierarchy have named the manage they view as most likely to replace Erik ten Hag, it has been reported.
On Tuesday, a host of United officials, including Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Sir Dave Brailsford, Joel Glazer, Omar Berrada, Jason Wilcox and Dan Ashworth are reported to have been involved in a seven-hour meeting in London.
A key topic of the discussion was of course the future of Erik ten Hag, who is under pressure after United's worst ever start to a season in the Premier League.
The Red Devils are currently languishing in 14th place and on a five-game winless run.

According to Miguel Delaney from The Independent, a number of arguments were put forward in regards to whether Ten Hag should say or go, with Ratcliffe requesting "forensic cases" all outcomes.
There has been no official announcement on the matter but it's said that during the meeting, Thomas Tuchel was spoken of as the most likely candidate to replace Ten Hag if United decide to pull the trigger.
Tuchel was courted by United in the summer and had lunch with Ratcliffe during the period where they spoke to other managers.

He is said to have been "close" to taking the job and the reason he did not was not mainly football-related.
Despite links, the report claims those close to the former Bayern Munich and Chelsea boss stress there has been no communication as of yet.
That being said, a separate report states that Tuchel has already identified Barcelona's Ronald Araujo as a priority signing in the event he ends up in the Old Trafford hotseat.
After the meeting, INEOS chief Ratcliffe is believed to have exited the building via the back door in an attempt to avoid answering questions from press who were present.

Speaking about the situation recently, Ratcliffe said: "I like Erik. I think he's a very good coach but at the end of the day it's not my call.
“But that team that's running Manchester United has only been together since June or July. They weren't there in January, February, March or April – [CEO] Omar [Berrada], [sporting director] Dan Ashworth - they only arrived in July. They've only been there… you can count it in weeks almost - they've not been there a long time, so they need to take stock and make some sensible decisions.”
