Zirkzee is set to join Man United in a deal worth a reported £35 million, which is above the £33.6 million release clause.
However, it is in exchange for more favourable payment terms.

It means the club will not pay a lump sum up front but pay the fee over a three-year period.
Personal terms have been agreed with the forward, who scored 12 goals across all competitions for Bologna last season.
The 23-year-old has two senior international caps to his name, having represented the Netherlands at Euro 2024. He made a substitute appearance against England.
Zirkzee is expected to undergo medical next week before penning a five-year contract, with the option of a further year.

On signing for Man United, Zirkzee said: "Having had discussions with the manager and the leaders of the club I know how exciting the future is going to be here and I cannot wait to play my part in achieving success for Manchester United.
"I am a player who has always dedicated everything to winning; I’m ready for this next challenge, to go to another level in my career and win more trophies.
"It is a privilege to join such an iconic club. I have to take a short break now after being with the national team, but I’ll be coming back ready to make an impact straight away."
