Jadon Sancho ignored Borussia Dortmund’s team-mate Emre Can’s warning over joining Manchester United.
Sancho joined Dortmund in the January transfer window on loan after a dismal spell at Old Trafford.
The England international had not featured for United since a falling out with Erik ten Hag in early August.

Sancho lashed out on social media after the United boss credited the player’s omission from the squad against Arsenal to his performances in training.
The winger has not kicked a ball at United since, and in January returned to Borussia Dortmund on loan.
Sancho’s ill-fated £72million transfer to United back in 2021 had been foreseen by one of Sancho’s former team-mates, Can.
“I see no reason to put Manchester United above Borussia Dortmund,” Can told Sport Bild in 2020.
“Not from a sporting side and not because of the appeal. I’d tell him to stay put and let’s play together forever.

“Jadon has class that not a lot of players possess. I noticed that fairly quickly. He’s enormously important for us.”
Sancho has struggled since returning on loan to Dortmund.
He registered an assist on his debut against Darmstadt, who were then at the foot of the Bundesliga.
However, Sancho has since played six games, five in the Bundesliga and one in the Champions League, and has not scored or assisted once.

Upon completing his move to Dortmund in January, Sancho said: "When I came into the dressing room today, it felt like 'coming home'.
"I know the club inside and out, I've always been very close with the fans here, and I've never lost contact with those in charge.
"I can't wait to see my teammates again, go out on the pitch, play football with a smile on my face, prepare goals, score goals and help qualify for the Champions League."
