Harry Maguire has received an apology from... a Ghanaian MP who ridiculed the Manchester United defender last year.
Maguire was bizarrely discussed in Ghanaian parliament in December 2022 as he was slammed for his showings at the back for Man United.
Isaac Adongo, an MP representing the Bolgatanga Central Constituency, referenced the England international when he condemned Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia for the performance of Ghana's economy.

Adongo addressed Bawumia as an 'Economic Maguire' in a brutal swipe at the Red Devils star.
"But there is a player like you in the United Kingdom, in England, called [Harry] Maguire that is playing for Manchester United," he said.
"Harry Maguire. He is a defender. He is a tackler and throws his body everywhere like he was the best defender in the world.

"Manchester United went and bought him. He became the biggest trend at the centre of Manchester United's defence and began to give assists to opponents."
However, Adongo has changed his tune on Maguire as he has hailed his recent performances at club level. Check it out below:
"Today, Maguire has turned the corner and is a transformational footballer," he said.

Maguire has enjoyed minutes on the pitch under Erik ten Hag this season as he has starred for Man United.
He's helped his side to victory over Fulham and Luton Town in the Premier League, keeping clean sheets in the process.
His time on the field comes after Lisandro Martinez's injury, with Maguire making the most of his opportunity.
The 30-year-old was the subject of intense transfer speculation during the summer transfer window, but a move away from Old Trafford failed to materialise.

Though he has since resurrected his Man United career with his recent performances and appears set to remain at the club ahead of the transfer window reopening in January.
