Man Utd duo 'set to leave club' in drastic move after draw with FC Twente

Man Utd duo 'set to leave club' in drastic move after draw with FC Twente

Two Manchester United players are set to leave the club next summer.

Manchester United are set to axe not one but TWO players at the end of the season in wake of their draw with Twente - but one of them could leave as soon as January.

Man United were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw with Twente in their opening Europa League game of the season.

Sam Lammers cancelled out Christian Eriksen's goal to hand his side a shock point at Old Trafford.

After the match, the Dutch forward stunned Man United fans with his claim following the result.

Erik ten Hag came under more criticism as he was slammed for a moment he had with one of his players during the clash.

A fresh report now states that the club are planning more outgoings following a clearout this summer.

According to Team Talk, Man United duo Eriksen and Casemiro are 'likely to depart at the end of the season'.

And the Dane could be sold as soon as January, meaning the club will have at least one midfield signing to make, having snapped up Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

Eriksen, 32, joined the Red Devils on a free transfer in the summer of 2022 and has made 77 appearances across all competitions for the club.

But a move away seems to be on the cards, having made a huge mistake against Twente.

Casemiro, meanwhile, is also on the chopping block following a summer of intense transfer speculation.

The veteran Brazilian, 32, was strongly linked with a move away from Old Trafford but remained at the club after the transfer deadline.

Despite failing to secure a transfer this summer, his days at the club seem to be numbered.

Casemiro didn't play against Twente while Eriksen started the European fixture.

Speaking after the game, Ten Hag said: "We are very ambitious and when you have ambition you have to perform and prove the point.

"Today, particularly in the second-half, we were too complacent. We didn't bring it over the line and, as a team, you have to bring this.

"You have to be consistent and keep going. In the second-half we dropped our level and gave the goal away. We can't allow the right-back from Twente to dribble through the whole midfield and not be stopped.

"We have seen again that you have to keep going for the whole game. Once you're 1-0 up you have to keep going and go for the second.

"For Twente, it was the game of their life. They fought for every yard, we didn't and 99 per cent is not enough, you have to give 100 percent. You have to kill the game, you have to finish it off and kill the game."
